When I Define Tuesday as "Monday"

To: The (probably) billions who were expecting a Monday post
From: The writing and editing staff here at Ducks Out Of A Row
RE: Temporary schedule change

Peeps, sorry about no new post today. I know the (American) holiday was technically yesterday, but it felt like today. [Perception is reality, folks!] As such, the Monday post will be tomorrow.

Also, it has been brought to my attention (by myself) that I've pretty much been slacking with regard to commenting back to your comments. [I hate when I bring my shortcomings up to myself, so you know I'll be working on that.]

I hope you all had a fun, safe holiday weekend! I'll be rappin' at ya tomorrow.

  1. Ha ha, John, it's OK, bloggers are allowed to take vacations too. Even the almighty Ducks deserve a break every once and a while.

  2. I am one of the ANGRY billions outraged that there was no Monday post! (except I didn't realize you had a schedule, so I kinda didn't even know there was anything to miss. I just read :)

But I'm OUTRAGED none the less!

  3. One of the many things I love about your posts is that you use parentheses even more than I do! There are those who poo-poo on the use of parentheses, but I say (after I poo-poo on them)how else can we express our inner thoughts when they are (as you well know) so relevant to the writing at hand? Yay for parentheses and brackets and ellipses and dashes - all very useful punctuation tools!

  4. Three cheers for the inner dialogue! Hip, hip, hooray! (Take that, those who would poo-poo on our use of parentheses.)

Huh. I never imagined I would ever write "Hip, hip, hooray!" before. What have I become? What have I become?? *hangs head, laments the tragic arc his life has taken*

  5. Okay, so that would make today....Saturday? No...wait. Then I wouldn't see garbage cans at the end of the driveways.
    Holidays make everything so confusing.
There's no shame in listening to your internal voice. It when all those other voices start interrupting that it gets to be a concern...
